The Oakmont Fire Company will be hosting a Rabies clinic open to all residents of Haverford Township. The cost is $5.00 per animal. It will take place on Saturday April 24th 10am-12pm. In order for your animal to participate your dog or cat must be 3 months of age, in good health, and in need of a rabies vaccine. Dogs must be on a leash not to exceed 6 feet in length and cats must be in a carrier. Remember most groomers require that your pet be up to date with their shots or they will not be seen.

Late afternoon basement fire
On Sunday, December 27th at 1640 hours Company 38 and Engine 35 were dispatched to the 800 block of Ardmore Avenue for a house fire. Police arrived and found smoke coming from the basement and relayed to Engine 38 a report of a working fire. Engine 38 arrived and went into service. Ladder 38 arrived and stretched a 2nd attack line into the house and performed search & rescue. The fire was quickly extinguished and the companies were returned to service just before 1800. Two car crash claims life
On Monday, December 14th at approximately 1830 hours Company 38 and EMS were diaptched to the 300 block of Ellis Road for an auto accident with entrapment. Police arrived to find a serious two vehicle crash. Squad and Rescue 38 responded and assisted on scene crews with hazard control and stabilization. Unfortunately one driver had succumbed to his injuries on scene. The other driver was transported to a trauma center in Philadelphia for treatment. Company 38 remained on scene to assist HTPD’s special operations unit with the investigation in the cause of the accident. The company returned to service just before 2000 hours. FF Patrick Kelly awaiting 2nd deployment to Afghanistan
FF Patrick Kelly pictured with is father, Life Member, Michael Kelly at a recent family get together. Patrick is an Army Ranger and is awaiting his 2nd deployment overseas mid-December. The Board of Directors, Officers and Crew would like to take this opportunity to wish the Kelly Family a warm and safe holiday. As well, thank them for allowing Michael and Patrick to be part of the Oakmont Fire Company family. Patrick, stay safe and wish you a speedy return!!
Engine 38 goes for RIT
At approximately 0230 hours on December 3rd a request was made for Engine 38 to respond and assist Company 34 on a house fire in the 100 block of Juniper Road. Santa is coming to the neighborhood…
Come one, come all!! Santa will be escorted through the streets of Oakmont Fire Company’s district. Santa is taking time out of his extremely busy schedule to check in and see if everyone is being good or bad! He will be coming around on Sunday, December 20th, 2009 starting at 12 noon. When you hear the fire truck sirens come on out and greet the big jolly fella!! Hope to see you curbside.

Haverford Township Day & Fire Prevention Week
To all Township residents, please take this opportunity to stop by and check out our new fire station. On Saturday, October 3rd, 2009 from 10am until 2pm, in conjunction with Haverford Township Day, we will be hosting an open house at our new station. We will be having fire prevention demonstrations to kick off Fire Prevention Week. Light refreshments will be served and tours of the station will be given. Stop by and see your local volunteers in their new home. See you there!!
Welcome Home!!
Within the last few weeks Eric & Corey Hatton have returned from active military duty overseas. They now will return to the hustle & bustle of everyday civilian life. We would like to thank the Hatton brothers, as well as all of our military brothers and sisters, for the sacrifices they have made in defending the USA. Welcome home and enjoy your family and friends!!
