FF Hand started his fire service at Oakmont Fire Company in Havertown, PA. Currently he is a member in good standing with the Mystic Fire Department in Mystic, CT. FF Hand is certified to the level of Firefighter 2, Hazmat OPS and EMT. Nick is currently enrolled into Pump Operator, NFPA Hazmat Tech as well as CPR Instructor. FF Hand started his career at Submarine Base Fire Department on October 10th, 2023. Please help SBFD welcome new hire Nick Hand.
Box Alarm Fire in Haverford Township
At 11:43 this morning, a Box Alarm Assignment was dispatched on the unit block of Cresent Hill Drive, in the Manoa section of Haverford Township. Ladder 35 (Brookline Fire Co) arrived and reported smoke showing from the residence and added Ladder 38. Crews from Oakmont assisted with searching and “opening up” inside and assisted with laddering the building outside. The fire was placed under control shortly thereafter.

We just received word from the North Pole that Santa is requesting a tour of the Oakmont section of Havertown on Sunday the 17th. We will be leaving the station around 11am. Keep an ear out for the sirens so you don’t miss a chance to say “hello” to Mr Clause. Till then we will all be waiting patiently!!

Brand New Gym Equipment!
This past week, Oakmont took delivery of our brand new gym equipment. We’d like to give special thanks to both Advantage Sport and Fitness Inc. and Firefighter Matt Speers for coordinating the building and delivery of the new equipment. This wouldn’t have been possible without the support of Oakmont’s Board of Directors and Oakmont’s Crew Club for funding our mission of keeping members in better health.

Oakmont Fire Co. 4th of July Bike Parade
Oakmont hosted our annual July Fourth bike parade followed by refreshments and races for all ages. Thanks to all that came out for the event and made it a huge success once again. Engine 38 also made a few local stops to cool off the crowds. Stay safe and Thank you to the ones protecting our freedoms to enjoy our day.

On Thursday afternoon, Engine 38 stopped by The Crec to visit all the kids wrapping up their final day of summer soccer.
Single Vehicle Accident Haverford Township
Earlier this evening, Squad 38, Rescue 38 Narberth Ambulance MICU 108, MICU 108A, Medic 313, Chief 313, Deputy 108, and Haverford Township Police responded to a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Haverford Rd. and Ardmore Ave. The crew of Squad 38 handled fluids leaking from the vehicle and secured the vehicle’s power so it could be towed. Thank you to all agencies who responded to the incident!
