The members of Oakmont Fire Company would like to congratulate Probationary Firefighters: Caleb Kilbride, Dakota Pearson, and Nicholas Moore for graduating from the Montgomery County Fire Academy. The members have finished an extensive training program that was over 180 hours long, ultimately graduating as certified firefighters.
On Tuesday morning at 5:45am, Oakmont was dispatched to a building fire, for smoke coming from a vacant home. HTPD arrived with smoke showing and advised dispatch of an active fire. Ladder 38 arrived with a crew of 6 and stretched a hose line and extinguished the fire. Engine 35 supplied Ladder 38 with a supply line, and then proceeded to perform horizontal and vertical ventilation. Engine 56 was on scene as the rapid intervention team. The fire was placed under control a short time later.

Delaware County Emergency Services 911 is proud to announce the 2024 911 division award winners!
Telecommunicator of the Year, was awarded to Police Dispatcher Jack Bramhall. Jack is a 20+ year police dispatcher at DES and was almost unanimously recommended! Congratulations Jack, well deserved!
Rookie of the Year, was awarded to Lawrence LJ Howard. LJ is approaching just 1 year at Delaware County 911 is certified to the highest discipline within Emergency Communications including Police dispatcher, Fire dispatcher and Field Communications operator!
Platoon of the Year, was awarded to “A” Platoon for outstanding and collective effort while providing exceptional service to the public and public safety.
Congratulations to all of the winners and everyone’s hard work and dedication at Delaware County 911!
At 10:41pm, Haverford Township fire companies were dispatched to an accident with entrapment in the 300 block of Manoa Rd. Chief 35 arrived and confirmed one heavily trapped. Crews from Oakmont, Brookline, Manoa, and Narberth Ambulance worked quickly to remove the patient in approximately 15 minutes.

At 2207, Oakmont was dispatched to the 600 block of Ellis Road for an accident with reported entrapment. Chief officers arrived and confirmed the confinement of one subject. Squad 38 assisted the crews on scene and was made available a short time later. Oakmont remained staffed with 3 crews for any additional emergencies.
