Come out and walk for a good cause!
Please join us as we host the 3rd Annual Super Steve Stroll this Sunday, September 21st, starting at 2pm at the firehouse. The 1-mile family friendly walk is in memory of life member, Steve Tiberio. He lost his battle to Mesothelioma in March 2012. Steve’s family and friends gather together annually to raise money and awareness for Mesothelioma. Past Chief/Board of Director laid to rest
Today the Oakmont Fire Company said goodbye to Past Chief Jack Healy. Jack was given a last ride past the station and on to St. Denis Cemetery. We would like to thank Jack’s family for letting him be a part of the fire company for such a long time. We also thank the Brookline Fire Company for their assistance with Ladder 35. RIP, Jack.
Board of Director passes away
It is with deep regret that the Oakmont Fire Company announces the passing of Past Chief Jack Healy. Jack served the company for many years and was Chief of the brigade from 1966-1974. Currently, he was still serving on the Board of Directors.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
VIEWING: Stretch Funeral Home, 236 East Eagle Road, Havertown, Pa. 19083 on Wednesday, August 27th 1800-2100 hours and again Thursday, August 28th 0930-1045 hours
MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: St Denis Church beginning at 1100 hours.
INTERNMENT: St Denis Cemetery immediately after the services.
Jack, thank you for your many years of service and guidance. RIP.
Residents of Buck Ln and Tunbridge Circle
The oakmont Fire Company will be doing firefighter training at 223 Buck Lane on Sunday, August 24th, 2014. The training will begin at 10:00 AM and conclude by 3:00 PM. This training will involve the use of various firefighting tools, and smoke machines. During this training session we will not conduct live fire training. Nothing on site will be on fire. the opportunity for this type of training is hard to come by and we appreciate every opportunity that is presented to us. If an issue does arise, please do not hesitate to make contact with a fire officer on scene sunday. Thank you for your patience and understanding during these hours.

Working House Fire
At 0116 hrs on July 24th Company 38(Oakmont),Company 35(Brookline) and Medic 108(Haverford) were dispatched to 843 Cricket Ave for a house fire. Haverford Pd arrived on location with fire showing from a rear porch. Engine 38 arrived on location and went into service. The fire was contained to the back porch. Engine 35 assisted with water supply. Great response by two companies with over 40 members responding. Special thanks to 34-7(Llanerch) and Haverford Pd Officer Gardner for thier assistance.
200 Block Wyndom ln Radnor
On July 9th at 1646 hrs Engine 38 was requested to assist Co 15 (Radnor) at 200 Wyndom Lane for a house fire. Engine 38 with a crew of 7 responded and assisted with fire suppression. The crew was on scene for two hours before returning.

Another Win
On May 17th, 2014 Oakmont Fire Company traveled to Eddystone Fire Company Station 12 to take part in a parade. Oakmont came home with not one but two first place trophies in the catagories of Best Equipped & Appearing Aerial 2002 or older. The second trophy was for Fire Company/Department traveling the longest distance. Thanks to those who spent many hours and some late nights preparing the ladder.
