On July 6th, the fire company was called upon to respond to a building fire reported on the unit block of Langhorne Avenue. Upon arrival at 7:27 PM, police reported heavy fire on the C side of the building with traffic blocking access from Darby Road. Fortunately, all occupants were accounted for by police and along with Company 34 (Llanerch), Company 35 (Brookline) and Company 58 (Bon Air) fire crews went to work. Firefighters from Oakmont’s Engine 38 were sent to the second floor to suppress the flames and eventually overhaul the area with the fire placed under control shortly thereafter. No injuries were reported.
