Plaque Dedication

Yesterday, on Nicks favorite day of the year, members attended a plaque dedication honoring the sacrifice made by our fallen Assistant Chief who passed away last year in the Line of Duty. He will be forever memorialized on the front of the building for the organization that he dedicated countless hours and cared so much about. He will never be forgotten.

Santa Sunday

Santa will be starting his visit of our first due at noon today but first we are enjoying a wonderful breakfast by Divine Occasions catering. Thank you Kathy Tiberio for once again making this possible!

We have received word that Santa will be once again be visiting the residents of our first due coverage area atop our apparatus on Sunday December 12th, beginning at noon. Keep an ear out for the sirens!

Birth Announcement

Congratulations to Chief William Hatton Jr. on the birth of his granddaughter and Chief Emeritus William Hatton Sr. on the birth of his great granddaughter,Livia Nicole Miller, on 4/27/2021, 6lbs 10oz!

RIT to Bon Air

At 10:25 PM last night RIT 38 was dispatched on the working fire in Bon Airs local. Command subsequently requested the balance of Company 38 to the scene. Our units operated on scene for approximately one hour before starting to be released by command.

Assistant Chief Nick Sava

The Oakmont Fire Company regrets to announce the death of Assistant Chief Nick Sava. Nick has long been an active and dedicated volunteer at Oakmont, serving in multiple leadership positions, up to the rank of Deputy Chief. In addition to currently holding the position of Assistant Chief, Nick also is a Board of Director and Life Member. Nick will be sorely missed by all of us at Oakmont. Rest Easy Nick, we will never forget you, or your dedicated volunteer service to the residents Haverford Township.

2020 Fire Prevention Week

This week is National Fire Prevention Week and the theme this year is “Serve up fire safety in the kitchen.” Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, we are unable to hold our annual open house. In lieu of the open house, this week we will be posting various Fire Prevention material on our social media and website for your review. Thank you for your understanding and we will see you at our open house next year!

First Due House Fire

Early this morning Company 38, Engine 35 and Narberth Ambulance were dispatched to Bala Lane for a reported house fire. Units arrived onscene and found a tree branch had fallen and forced wires onto the roof of the home causing a small fire in the roof and attic area. The fire was quickly contained once power was secured. Chief 38 had command.
